Schrader Valve to Male NPT Fittings | Adapters to Winterize Backflow Preventer and Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) for Sprinkler Systems| Blowout Method Using Air Compressor (Lead-Free Brass)

These fittings may be used to connect an air compressor or bike tire pump to a backflow preventer valve (a.k.a. pressure vacuum breaker) for winterization purpose, or wherever Schrader valve to male National Pipe Thread (MNPT) fittings are needed. Backflow preventers or pressure vacuum breakers (PVB) are typically installed in underground sprinkler systems to prevent water contamination in the event of a water pressure loss. Packaging is reusable. A generalized procedure to winterize backflow preventer using compressed air and bicycle tire pump is provided on the packaging.

• Note: Backflow preventers typically have either male SAE 45° Flare or female NPT connections (see image).  The fittings in this package will fit female NPT connection only.  They will not fit male SAE 45° Flare connection.  Please check your backflow preventer before purchasing.
• For your health and safety, this brass fitting is made of lead-free brass which contains less than 0.25% lead.  Lead-free brass costs about 30% more to manufacture than regular brass. Lead-free brass is also harder, stronger, and more durable than regular leaded brass.  Always wear safety goggles when handling or using compressed air.
